I'm using a Monster HTS-3600 power conditioner and I have my D* installed via a SWM8. My question is can I run my coax through my Monster power conditioner? I'm asking because with Direct TV I did not have a PI in line with my coax and now I do, since I'm using an SWM8.

Thanks!

You can try like houskamp said but I don't think you will be able to receive all the new MPEG4 HD channels if you connect it to the Monster unit. I don't think it will pass all the frequencies the new channels are on.

I'm willing to try it, but my main concern is that with the PI on the line, I don't want it to burn up my Monster power conditioner unit.

I am not sure about that. That may be a problem.

i would just bypass the monster and ground the swm8 itself. chances are the monster only goes up to 1000mhz anyway

Agree with dave29, ground the SWM-8, and power the PI thru a UPS (just commented in other thread).

I use that power conditioner and have SWM hooked up and run the coax through it. Works great. No problems at all with any signals. My PI is connected at the switch.
