I just want to thank everyone who helped me with the questions I had for my install. The D* installer showed up this morning and had never completed an install with a SWM. He said he has heard of them, but never saw one. He was more than willing to do my install with a little help from me on the swm setup.
Before he got there I installed the swm on a mounting board in the back of a cabinet in my garage (the cabinet doesn't have anything in it. See picture below...
The installer mounted the dish about 25 feet from the swm. We cut the cable that I was using for my Dish Network since it had a ground wire and was already run to my house cable box outside. We used this cable to run from the PI to the splitter. This is the white cable in the picture (I just tucked the unused end behind the mounting board).
At first we had the BB filters connected. Once we removed those and reset the three receivers (1 - HR21, 2 - H21) got a great signal in the 90's.
Now I just need to get my Harmony remote setup, customize my play lists, and get familiar with my new equipment. :D
HD on all my TVs now! woo-hoo!!! :jumpingja
