I live in the south and love my braves baseball and was looking around on Dish's homepage and it says that i am supposed to get Sportsouth and FSN South in HD but it isnt in my guide and hasnt been since i got HD in January. I just wanted to check with other Dish subs especially in Upstate, SC area to see if they were getting it. I called Dish and they said they were having issues with the channel and would get to it but it has been 2 days and of course a friend with Direct has the channels and they are working fine. Just checking thanks.

It appears that both of those channels are only active on 129° ...
Do you have a DISH1000 or are you getting your HD from 61.5°?
I assume you are getting the SD versions?
If you do have 61.5° and not 129°, it appears that DISH will be adding those channels to 61.5° ... but there is no public timetable.

I think the channels are only live for HD when a Braves home game is on.

They will, however, still be in the guide if you have the right dish, receiver and subscription.
Sorry I do not know the channel assignment, but FSN South HD is right above FSN South SD and mpeg4 in the 5000 range. Some of the HD content gets pushed to HD Alternate channels in the 400 range. Most Hockey and Baseball games are available in HD, but the channel is often blocked in my area.

The channels are 5420 (FSN South) and 5437 (SportSouth). They are only on when a local HD sporting event is being played.
would i get these channels if i live in michigan but subscribe to the multi sports package?

I believe SportsSouth is not included in MultiSport (100% blocked out outside of its territory). You would get FSN South - but no content since the HD "game" feed is likely to be blacked out outside the local market anytime there is anything good on.
darn it. thanks for the reply

The SD rebroadcast at 2 or 3 AM will not be blacked out, if that is any consolation.
