I got dtv installed yesterday and the installer was great, the wiring is all fantastic, he even helped me pull an ethernet cable to hook up to the box.

My one question is, the dvr i got was the HR20-700 and its a refurbished box. I was hoping for an HR21 and on top of that a new box.

If i call them will they exchange the one i got for a new HR21 or atleast a refurb HR21, i really wanted black and could also make use of the dual ethernet ports on the HR21.

If there is nothing wrong w/ the current HR20 delivered and is working properly, I don't think they will exchange it just because you wanted an HR21 or a new HR20.
Unless you find a sympathetic CSR.

keep the HR-20 it has the Ota tuner built in.:D
If you want an HR-21 no Ota tuner built in but an external one will be available soon.
If you don't need ota then it's your call to swap it out.

Pretty much the only way to guarantee a HR21 is to go to Costco or Best Buy and purchase it. You can try talking to a CSR to see what they'll do but chances are you are stuck with it since you didn't reject it at installation. One option is keep it for use on another TV and go buy a HR21 at Costco for $169.

ehhh.... i just had mine installed on Sat too and he brought 2 refurbs out. They work great but the damm face covers are buzzin like crazy from the hard drives vibrating. They are pretty loose. I dont mean typical hard drive noise.. i mean as loud as if you set a cell phone on a glass table and let it vibrate across the table.

Is it the faces or the cases themselves that are vibrating? My case was vibrating and I solved it with a small piece of Dynamat. Look at my thread here (http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=107951).
