This is my first post here but I've been reading for a few weeks now.

I have a PVR 721 and on every show I record, somewhere during its playback I will get and couple of seconds of no audio followed by a half second or more pixelation.

One time so far on a recording of Howard Stern on E! I began playback and got no audio at all. When I stopped the program and restarted it, all was fine. This has only happened on one program out of maybe 10-15 hours I've watched so far.

Is this behavior a quirck of the unit or should I be calling tech support/customer service? It doesn't seem to be related to whether or not I it is recording in the background. It always happens at least once during a program though.

I would call Tech Support and let them know what is going on. Many other people have been having problems similar to yours over the past few months on and off. The more people that call, the better chance that the problem will be fixed sooner.

I get this glitch too occassionally. It's not fatal and hitting the "go back" button (the arrow button looping counterclockwise) will go back and allow you to listen to the passage you missed. I get it about once every three recordings. Slightly annoying, but nowhere near the level of severity that the Dishplayer has with Dolby Digital recordings.

It usually happens on mine when my timers are starting up or shutting down a recording as it usually happens about three minutes after the hour or a few minutes before.

I am also seeing some of this behavior on a week-old 508. I may start informally logging this to see if it gets worse in the next few weeks. Meanwhile, I've subscribed to this thread to if anyone else report similar experiences.
