Help...Help...Help.
I have always installed my own, including the most recent install with a H20, but, I am having the roughest time trying to get the HD channels to come through.
I get excellent strength when checking the signal strength individually on the 101, 110, and 119 sats. (running anywhere from 95 to 100 on all). I get slow, very low readings on some of the 99, and, nothing on the 103.
The weird part is that when I let the signal meter scroll by itself through the transponders, I get random 0s for strength. If I check 2 times, I get Zeros on different locations that the first time I ran it.
Also, I get nothing on the 103 sats.
I removed the Multiswitch out of the loop with barrel connectors. I just ordered a new slimline dish hoping the LNB's maybe went bad...I noticed about 1/2" of water inside the plastic hood....
I replaced a H20 that was receiving the HD channels fine...
Help...Please.

1. Does the H20 still work?
2. Are you sure you have BBCs on both lines?

From what I can tell there seems to be an issue with the newest software for the HD boxes where even though you have good signals, the Signal Strength screen seems to give random zeros, how ever if you use the Signal Meters screen instead, you won't get any zeros, its only on the Signal Strength screen that it gives the zeros.

From what it sounds like, the OP has water inside his LNB. Something might have shorted out.

Yep. Water inside the LNB is bad news. Until that problem is rectified any other troubleshooting is a waste of time.

I drilled 2 very small holes into the bottom of the plastic covering the LNB to drain the water and was able to get water out.
I do have the BBC on both lines...one thing I was wondering, the BBC says it's made to work with the Slimline Dish....I have the 1st GEN 5lnb dish. Do they have a different switching ability or something to be specific for that dish?
I have ordered the new dish and it should be in early next week. I will post back.
This just has be very confused and frustrated.
Any other suggestions are welcomed.
I do still have my H20 active and may re-connect it to see it I get the signal.

I don't think you want an LNB that has had water damage or one that the water is coming in one place and leaving another. The only way to replace it yourself currently is to buy a whole new dish on-line, which you did.

my lnb was replaced in january,The tech showed it to me and the 99/101/103 lnb was loaded up with water,In my case it started with no odds on the 101 then complete loss of 99 and 103. the 110 and 119 were dry and was still getting some HD before it was replaced.
There are 2 mfg's of these Lnb's,theres a post in one of these forums about that somewhere.:D

luckily for me i have the PROTECTION PLAN:D
I used it twice this year already

Here's just an update.....
My new Dish came in....the Slimline....and all of my woes have gone away.
It must have been a bad LNB. Took about 5 minutes of aligning and I was back in business....
Thanks to all that replied.
