Yeah I know what you mean, yesterday I did some mid-winter cleaning, currently Norton is not on my PC, I almost forgot how fast this thing can boot up :) Systemworks and Internet Security will go back on tomorrow.

I personally have had good luck with Pc-Cillin 2003. It seems to take less resources and is less expensive than the others. It can be downloaded for like $29.95 (www.downloadsuperstore.com) and includes free updates, unlike the other antivirus products. If your not in a hurry, I have seen it for sale (new, unopened pkg) on Ebay for even less.

It also includes a basic firewall and email scanning and more. I have noticed that the email scanning can occasionally mess up your outlook express email logon info, but other that that, its worked flawlessly and caught a bunch of stuff. I previously had PC-Cillin 2002 and liked it as well.

I use AVG 6.0 Free Edition from Grisoft.
http://www.grisoft.com/

Works pretty good and doesn't take up much recources. It hasn't failed since I got it, but I'm pretty carefull with attachments and such.
It is free too.
I think they have a paid version too, or else they used to.
