Anyone catch this show on NBC? Think Mexican version of The Sopranos and you'll get the idea...only I thought it was way more interesting than The Sopranos. It was only 6 episodes with 2 new episodes per week ...Sunday/Tuesday. Not sure if it will be back although it was a top 30 show for its brief run. The DVD is available from shopnbc.com (http://www.shopnbc.com/product/?track=-11100&familyid=n60271). Bravo is supposed to air the Producer's Cut this March.

I haven't seen tonight's episode yet, but I really liked the show so far. I was a little put off with the stereotyping (Mexican currupt military and police, Mexican narco-trafficers, black drug dealers, DEA with head up its butt, etc.) but I got over it.
And the description (Mexican Sopranos) was exactly the way I described it to a friend last week. And I agree it had more going on. but so did the Sopranos in the second season. :)
See ya

The problem with The Sopranos is the series was originally written for only 2 maybe 3 seasons. Once it became a huge success HBO asked David Chase to extend the storyline for who knows how many more seasons...and that's where the problem is. This past season and the season before felt like we were treading water just filling time until things get wrapped up in a season finale. I hope they end it soon because its become a regular Sunday night snooze for me.
If anyone missed Sunday or tonite's Kingpin episode Bravo will air both this Friday night.

In this weeks B&C, an article on this subject said that "after the first reruns of Kingpin, Bravo next month will show an alternative version (or "director's cut) loaded up with racier content, language that wouldn't cut it on broadcast TV & partial nudity, but none of it would be as extreme as HBO or Showtime"

I was shocked at the amount of violence and blood on the NBC version. I know its on at 10pm but it pushed the envelope for broadcast TV standards. It made NYPD Blue look tame by comparison.
I saw most of the series including the finale the other night.
I liked it over all but the one thing that irked me was that all the "bad" bad guys were way-over-top characters with serious social & behavioral issues whereas the "good" bad guys (in the "corporation") had their acts pretty much together.
Even the hit-man brother, while cold-blooded as hell, could at least his cool.
