When I had some work done on my roof, I had the contractor make an access conduit to the attic. This would let me avoid having a bundle of wires in the way on the flat part of my roof.
When I moved the wires, one of my two receivers only picked up one satellite signal. Both had the antenna signal, so wiring the diplexers didn't seem likely. When I was toubleshooting, I moved the sat signal for the working diplexer to the problem diplexer, and I got bot sats. Then I put the "bad" wire on the other diplexer and figured I'd check the wire outside tomorrow.
OK - but then I checked the second receiver and it did get bots sats. So everything works now, bit I'm wondering is there is an explanation. Either the crimp was so poor that moving it fixed it, or there is something odd going on, like the ground between the two sets of wires.
I'm wondering if anyone has heard of this sort of thing before?
