View Full Version : How can I get DTV to honor my AAA credit ?

I signed up 12/19/07 and used the AAA phone # 800-242-9114. The rep verified my AAA number and said that I was eligible for the $10 off for 24 month AAA discount. The install was 1/15 and low and behold here it is 4/13 and still no credit on my bill yet. I have made phone calls and numerous email contact and lots of promises that it will be on my next bill and then the next bill comes and no credit. Last night an email dept supervisor called me and said that I am at an impasse and the email dept can not help me further. She said that the promo dept has to make the decision. I ask how to contact the promo dept and she says that I can't and that she herself can't contact them either. She says that through her experience that when a claim like mine has been escalated and then nothing happens then that means that the resolution is not in my favor. I say how can that happen and she says that she can't see anything on my original order that says AAA discount. I say that I did everything that I was supposed to do at the time of order. She says that there should be notes in the order about AAA. I said that that was the 1st or 2nd day of that promo and maybe the reps were not up to speed yet on the way that they were supposed to do it. She says that she is sorry that I am unhappy but there is nothing that she can do. That issue is the only thing that I am dissatisfied with everything else is great. It just baffles my mind that DTV is trying not to honor their commitment. She gave me the address for the Office of the President of Directv so I will have to send a letter there I guess. Anyone know of a different contact that may be helpful. Thanks for any help !

You could try calling and ask to speak to someone in the customer retetion department. Other than that, I don't know. Good luck!

I never got my credit, I contacted them using the email address. They called me back within an hour or two, I was surprised. But they said they that the promotion had ended, and I couldn't the rebate, even though when I called several months ago they said I had it. The only thing they could offer was 4 free months of Showtime (which I never watch anyway). :(

It took me many phone calls and emails to get my AAA new customer discount. Finally I reached a CSR supervisor that was very helpful. Still not able to get me the exact AAA discount I agreed to a $10 montly credit for 12 months and a $9.99 credit for 12 months for the HD charge. This was in addition to the $20 month 12 month national discount rebate and a $10 month 5 month referral. A little better since I realize all of the discounts in 12 months instead of 24. Somehow this also resulted in a price increase of $3 and I had to ask for the $3 monthly price adjustment which was also granted. Good luck and keep asking.
