Nothing happens, dish keeps sending you bills and if you keep paying them you get to keep your service. The only real change is that if you decide to cancel your service after your contract time is over there'll be no early termination fees.

Also, if you are leasing equipment and E* offers an upgrade program, you will be eligible for it now. Haven't heard of anything new in the works but who knows?
