So this months question got me thinking. The DishPro stuff is all supposed to be DiSEqC 2.0 complient. There appear to be tons of places selling DiSEqC 2.0 switching on the web. Just all of them in Europe. With the 721 out, and the 921 on the horizon why aren't more US retailers hawking some of the cheaper overseas switches?

Because even though E* "says" their DP stuff is DiSEqC compliant, their swiches are STILL proprietary to E* ONLY. Basically, DP is using part of the DiSEqC protocol, but is NOT 100% with ALL DiSEqC switches - sorry.

There are many places here in the US that sell diseqc switches. I have some for my DVB hobby. I could try one and see what my 721 thinks of it but I am not that adventourous with that expensive receiver and putting voltage to/from an untested switch!!! ;)
