Just returned from a big Directv meeting in Florida,Noticed they were making notes about everything suggested by the dealers on how to improve the overall service.
Just thought this would make for an interesting thread on the forum.
To get things started:
(1) Caller ID function should work from anywhere in the game lounge.
(2) Really need a list style guide for your DVR units.
(3) Need a way to blank the screen when playing music channels, DTV bounce thing drives me nuts.
Wouldn't it be great if there was a "Clear ALL" option on the Caller I.D. list. If I want to clear them it takes 50+ select presses.. Just a thought !!

Why do you want to delete them at all (unless you don't want the wife to see the cal from the girlfriend)?

I have Caller ID on my cordless phone handset, so I have my HR20 set to not display the info. Not only would a global delete be handy, but a function to not store the data in the first place should be available.
As for (3), just turn off the TV. :)

What if the TV is the only speaker you've got?

that reminds me, I'm gonna hook up an electronic echo box to the audio outputs of my directv and then to the sound system so that it sounds like the program was playing from the bottom of the grand canyon with echos and multiphasic distortion, should make my house sound like it is the size of the entire state of Rhode Island

Again, why would you need that feature? What benefit would it have?

Personally, I have no desire to keep any of them. I just want to know who's calling to see if I have to bother answering the phone. If I need the numbers for some reason, the phone has them. It' a pain delete them now, since you have to start from scratch for each one.

So just don't delete them. Pretend they're not there. It's not like it's taking up a measurable amount of memory.

Improve service - do they mean the equipment and programming, or the human side ? If the human side, I'd tell them they need to reverse the nasty slide in their customer service performance......

I don't have that problem since only about 10% of my calls make it to caller ID. I would, however, love to see a HD only package since I'm spoiled and refuse to watch anything that's not HD.

You won't have much luck looking to DirecTV's caller ID functions to help marital issues
