I'm spending waaaaay too much time on the phone with Dish Network recently, trying to resolve multiple billing issues. A rundown:

1) I originally purchased a 2-receiver system (both 301's) under the Free-For-All promotion last August. When I learned about the PVR units, I purchased a 508 and convinced Dish to give me a $49.99 credit for one of the 301's. The unit was shipped to Dish in early September, and as of two weeks ago still no credit. After a few phone calls I got a $49.99 credit to my CC, but on the same day a corresponding $49.99 charge to my Dish account! After several more phone calls to CS and their supervisors I think I have this straightened out, but I'm still waiting the 7 - 10 business days for the credit to actually appear on my CC.

2a) On 01/31 I decided to buy a year of AT150 to beat the coming price increase. When I looked at my next bill online, there was no monthly credit for the Free-For-All promotion. I called CS, who told me since I was no longer subscribing *monthly* to AT150, I no longer qualified for the credit. I read the agreement, and of course there was no mention of this requirement to get the credit. More phone calls, more supervisors, ended up getting a one-time credit to cover the rest of my Free-For-All promotion.

2b) The same online bill showed that I paid $451 for a year of AT150 (via my CC), but the detailed bill showed I was charged more than this. A separate call to CS today (I decided it was much less confusing to fight only one battle at a time) confirmed that I was in fact charged the new higher rate of $473 for the year of programming, even though I purchased and paid for the year before the increase. CS response so far is "that rate is not guaranteed" - I didn't know that Dish could at will change the price on service I've already paid for. I'm still working on this one ....

I would just be quiet in your case you have done fairly well. You voided your Free For All agreement and got the credit. Dish informed its dealers that Jan.28th was the last day that the old pricing could be supported by their software, even though they stated a date of Feb 1st for the price increase.

And this affects me how? As of Jan. 31 the website showed the old price, CS quoted me the old price, and I payed for a year of AT150 at the old price. Perhaps I should have locked in sooner, but I did nothing wrong.

"The DISH Network Free-For-All offer is the easiest way to get your equipment for Free after purchasing 12 consecutive months of qualifying programming." This is Dishes ststement for qualifying for Free-For-All, 12 consecutive months means 1 after the other. The date affects you in the case that the CSR should have informed you that they could no longer offer the old price when you signed up for an annual package.

Update ... all billing issues have now been resolved. :goodjob: The last issue required a e-mail and followup phone call to the "Executive Office of Soraya Cartwright" to find a rep that understood the billing problem I had.

Moral: be persistent, and if you don't like the answer from one CS rep, try another one. I've also noticed that E-mail seems to be a more productive way of resolving issues than phoning CS.
