I am getting ready to make some new cables to run from my dish to SWM8.

I am using Quad Shield RG6 and Digicom Green RG6 Connectors.

Does anyone know what D uses for standard installations?

How long is your total distance from the dish to the SWM? If it's <100', the quad shield, which is most likely copper-clad steel center conductor, should be OK.

D* uses RG6, Solid CC. 60% braid, 75Ohm cable. No need for Quad.

This is the Directv approved compression connector.

the other post are correct about the cable specs unless you are running the cable underground then you will want use use flooded cable which has silicone between outer jacket and briad to keep out moisture. you can find some at summitsource.com or shop around its called flooded direct burial dual rg6 sweep tested to 2.2 ghz but if you can find 3 ghz all the better the digicon compression connectors are fine but just note that they have different sizes for dual and quad shield ,you will have a heck of a time putting dual shield fittings on quad shield wire and might compromise signal integrity
