I'm new to BitTorrents so I'm going to be confused about its intricacies. So, here's something I don't understand.
I have a Westell DSL router with its firewall setting set to low .. no other firewalls in the system. There is Network address translation with my Verizon network IP being translated to the typical 192.168... kind of thing. There's an exclamation icon in the BitTorrent status bar indicating I don't have an incoming connection because no ports are open. That makes sense to me. (I know how to fix it if necessary)
Here's what doesn't make sense. I can upload and download torrents in the above configuration without problems. How are all those peers seeing my computer through my port blocking firewall and with address translation?
