Hi - I live in a condo with MDU Directv. Several years ago the dealer upgraded our building so that we could get HD channels. When they did this any owner who wanted HD had to pay up to get some device (a stacker?) so that we could get the signal. I did this and all was good with the world. Now our contract is up for renewal and the residents of the building want to get the new Directv HD channels that apparently we are not able to get yet. The dealer told us a few months ago that some sort of equipment was not available yet (does someone know what this means?)
We are going to meet with this guy in the near future and since no one here really knows what they are talking about I thought I would look to a group like this to perhaps get some information (and note my name - medummy - so please keep it simple!!)
What will be entailed in upgrading to get the new channels? What sorts of questions do we need to ask the dealer? What kind of new equipment are they talking about?? Will the building need to be rewired for this upgrade or is it just a new satellite? Can someone give me a basic Directv MDU for dummies cheat sheet or link to such a site somewhere?? HELP!!!!!!!!!!
