had a intresting call with dish csr. guy today...
i currently sub to the america everything pack. All hd ,,, hd locals.. and sports pack...

want to down grade to at 250 ,,,, hd essentials... and keep the hd locals and sports....

i currently have a dish 1000plus dish....
so i get 110.118.119.129//.///

the rep had me on the phone for over an 30 min saying that there was a problem in there system and that i dont need to have 118....
and that they wanted to turn off 118...

i tryed to tell them that i get my det hd locals from that location and i dont want it shut off...

i ended up getting so frustrated that i said forget it ...
i will keep what i have...

is this a way dish is trying to stop people from downgrading there programing ?

You just got a CSR who wasn't familiar with locals being on 118.7. 118.7 is primarily used for foreign-language programming, so most CSRs probably assume that since you don't have those channels, you don't need it. However, they can't just "turn off" 118.7 anyway. As long as your locals are enabled (by zip code), you'll get them from 118.7 just fine, even if the CSR doesn't think so.

that's odd....you having 118 shouldn't have been an issue regardless of you needing it anymore or not. it can't just be turned off. they would have to come out and physically remove it, which would be a waste of everyone's time and money. call in and try again. whoever it was that you talked to was wrong.

why do you have 118 what state are you in i can ask a friend the purpose to the 118 sat.

if the 118 sat is in the install summery than all that has to be done is that who ever you talk to has to fix the account befor you try and do any thing

i dont' know why they keep saying it needs to be shut off....they can't just "shut off" 118. it would require someone physically coming out and changing your setup outside. call again and ask for tech support (option 3 i think). when it asks if you want to trouble-shoot or just talk to someone, tell them you just want to talk to someone. if it asks, say it is a signal issue. i don't know why you've had such an issue with this....
