Why does my HR20-700 always freeze up??

It seems like at least once a week I have to reset my DVR becuse it just locks up and will not let you change channels or use any function. Is this a problem for anyone else?

For about one week there have been a number of reports of this type of behavior. Prior to that, it was not common at all, in fact very rare.

So if your problem has been mostly in the last week, yes - welcome to the club. If it has been going on for a long time, then you may have some other issue.

Vid53If this has been going on for a while, then you need to consider getting the box replaced. But first, you should do a reset and clear, which will rebuild the hard drive and put everything back to the install state. You'll lose all recordings and have to go through setup again, but you'd have to do that anyway if you replaced the box.

It should NOT be locking up like that. Even the recent 0x22b release, which has lockup issues, doesn't affect most people that badly.

I have had this problem twice within the last week on my HR20-700 DVR. Therefore, I performed the DELETEARCHIVE procedure noted in thread http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=127136 post #185, and will monitor/report results after a few days.
