This is a first for me with any DVR.
I was wondering why the the available space on the HR20-100 took a dive last week. This weekend I finally figured it out. Space was down to 4% when I started watching a recorded episode of Ax Men only to discover that the episode did not stop recording at the prescribed time and continued for a total of 15 hours and 3 minutes.
At least I now know 15 hours of HD-MPEG4 equals about 26% of disk space. Anyone else have this happen? Again, this was a first for me after six or so years of using a DVR with DirecTV...

It has been reported a few times over the last year or so. I have actually had it happen to me before. I had a 3 hour recording and when I went to "My Playlist" it was still recording and was already up to 5.5 hours.
Please report the issue in the issue thread for your DVR and software version.

Also I am moving this thread to the HR20/HR21 forum.

I have had this happen several times ever since the major lockup problem was introduced about a week or so ago. I was hoping that this weekend's CE would fix it, but I had to revert back to the NR due to the other major bug (KOD) that appeared. Now I have to monitor all my HR20s daily to make sure that the Runaway-Recording bug hasn't bitten me.

This happened to me a week ago on one of my HR20-700s. I recorded Rattatouille and it kept recording until the next showing of Ratattouille on the same channel. It was still on 0x1fe at the time, but it has since happened again on my other HR20-700 after it received the current NR on Tuesday 4/29. Both seemed to record until the next showing of the same show.
I've had a show record for 24 hours...pretty much cleared the rest of the drives. Just one of those HR2x features I guess.

0x22b (something like that) is the software if memory serves. It is a HR20-100 and there was a lock up or two in the general time period around when Ax Men would have recorded.
Not the norm at all for this box as it has been quite stable over the past year+. Sorry to hear others have has the same issue. Good that the issue is available for DirecTV to see reported should they look however.
