Channel Guide missing Program Info

My channel guide has lost program descriptions on some channels. Like TCM Chiller,
Life,tru,BBCA, FMC, Trav, DHC,ID, HOM,MILT WGN and some others. How do I get them back?

Try restarting your receiver. My recommendation is to unplug it for 5 minutes and then plug it back in. It is possible your receiver has corrupted data in your channel guide. Remember, if you do this you will have to wait 12-24 hours for all of the guide data to be available depending on which receiver you have.

Thanks, that worked. I got the listings within a half hour... all is well now...

Unplugging is a last resort.

Try the much more gentle "menu reset" first.

I lost most of the guide info last week, menu reset worked great.

Seattlezoid - for future reference, resetting of the receiver is best accomplished first by using the menu restart option as phox_mulder states. If you can't restart via the menu, then try the Red Button Reset (RBR) using the small red button in the upper left corner inside the access card door. If for some reason that isn't working, then try the unplug method. Unplugging is usually only recommended as a last resort. (I believe it's kind of like a PC where first you use the "Start Menu - Restart" method, then turning off the power switch and only then just unplugging it).

Thanks, I did not even know there was a reset option. I now have seen it in the menu options and will try that next time.
