I am hearing that the price of Sky Angel will increase to $11.95 a month starting on April 1st.
Can anyone verify this?

Sounds like Jesus will be kicking over more tables in the temple soon.

Yes it is. Tony mentioned something about it a few weeks ago.

The first price increase that I remember. Does SkyAngel offer a price freeze for those that pay one year in advance just as Dish does? Do they still offer a lifetime subscription plan?

From what I know, being a (former?) $9/month subscriber to SA*, the price is going up to just under $12 as of March, but I believe that by acting before the end of March, subscribers can get one year for $99. I don't know if there's anything else planned.

They may or may not decide to offer a lifetime
subscription again. It has been offered around
Christmas time, with a warning that this may be
the last time. The price goes up just about
every time it is offered. I think it was about
$400 last time.
We've got two lifetime subscriptions; for ourselves,
and for my parents. It sure beats monthly payments,
over the long haul.

Can you sell the receiver and the next person that buys it get the lifetime subscription that you paid for?

Most likely they would, if you both fail to notify either Sky Angel or DISH network (like you're supposed to do). If Sky Angel finds out that the receiver has changed hands (e.g. due to a DISH subscription under another name and service address), they might very well choose to de-authorize that receiver for their service. If you have multiple active DISH receivers, I think that the the Sky Angel subscription is applied to all of them.
They are always happy to cooperate, though, if you want to donate a lifetime subscription and/or equipment and/or installation to a non-profit institution that would benefit from it, such as a church, prison, care facility, etc.
I received a Sky Angel sales rep. update in the mail yesterday.
The new price options go into effect on April 1st. You can still lock in one year for $99, if you call 1-888-SKY-ANGEL and pay for it before then.
Effective April 1st, Sky Angel is $11.99 per month, or $119.90 per year, or $499.00 for the lifelong option (which won't be actively promoted this time).
