For the sake of easy I ordered three SMC powerline adaptors. By the way if anyone is interested, there is a guy on ebay selling these for $29 each. He ships superfast, and will combine shipping if you order multiples. These are the SMCHT-ETH adaptors. They are new and not refurbs. They are not wall warts, they have about a 6 foot cord so you can put them anywhere. They are also capable of 85mbps transfer rates and come with ethernet cables and install CD. They were totally plug and play, took a matter of 5 minutes to plug them in and get them going. It took longer to reboot my HR21's.
After getting both of my HR21's networked, I tried out some of the VOD stuff. Seems simple enough. Now here's my questions (I know there is always a catch right?) How do I test the HR21's to see what kind of speed I am getting through the powerline adaptors ?
I just got my tools and connectors today so maybe this weekend I'll get to rerun all of my cabling to the boxes. If only it wasn't so high up (terrified of ladders over 8 feet or so)

Thanks guys again. I ask so many questions, I feel like I should be paying for tech support ;)

There is no way to test the speed on the HR21 but could take the line going to the HR21 and connect it to a PC/laptop and do a speed test.

You guys seriously amaze me. I always seem to have an answer within minutes of posting. Thanks for the idea, I can't believe I didn't think of that myself.

Okay tested both connections with my laptop. Got 1.8mb download rate which is all my DSL gives me. Can't wait until FIOS gets here.
