The only reason I bring this up is because the White Sox have been running their mouths in the papers for the last two years and the Twins have dominated them on the field. New Sox pitcher Billy Koch was the latest one, bad-mouthing A.J. Pierzynski. Yes, the same A.J. who hit the game-winning homerun in Game 5 to knock the A's out of the playoffs off of him.

I hope the race is closer than last year. Then again, to win a division by 13 1/2 games when Doug, Guzman, Luis Rivas, and Koskie have their worst seasons offensively as pros and your top three pitchers (Radke, Milton, Mays) miss 88, 25+, and over 100 games respectively.......well, I like our chances to win by even more this year.

Yeah, yeah, the Sox have Colon and Koch now, but their defense is still atrocious and their middle relief is suspect at best.

My pick is the Twins by 15.

I think the race will be close, but then I thought last year's Central race would be fairly close between three teams... so who knows.

I think the Twins can improve on their 94 wins last season; they had a lot of people hurt, and should get better if they can just stay reasonably healthy. We'll see if Chicago can keep up.

I'll predict that Chicago will be the early frontrunner, because they have the softer 1st half schedule. If they can bury the Twins before the break, maybe the 2nd half won't matter. But if the Twins are within 5 games in late July or early August, the Sox schedule gets brutal, and I think the Twins will pull ahead down the stretch.

My guess... Twins by 6.
