I just installed a SWM a week or so ago. I have two DVR's (HR20's) connected that are working fine.
However, I'm having problems with an old Sony satellite receiver that I have connected to one of the legacy ports on the SWM.
When I first connected it, I would get occasional picture/sound breakup that was annoying but tolerable (given this is not our primary TV). However, tonight the pixelation is so pronounced that's it's unwatchable. The SWM-connected DVR's are doing just fine.
Any ideas what might be going on here? Do I have a "bad" SWM?
did you try a different legacy port

might try using a barrel connector to temp bypass the swm to the line for the sony.. would at least test the cables..

I too am having this problem with my SWM8 with a HR10 250 and a Samsung reciever. I haven't got around to doing it yet but one suggestion was to run the 4 lines from the dish to a wb68 then run 4 of those lines to the SWM8 and run the old receivers directly from wb68 instead of the SWM8.
I have not tried this yet but I do have the same problems.
Another problem I am having is with one of my HR20's. I have an OTA antannae hooked up directly to the HR20 and since the installation of the SWM8 the OTA locals pixelate and break up horribly. I have recorded OTA channels that I haven't been able to watch due to the pixelation and missing recorded sessions.
Last night I even did a test whereby I recorded Amercial Idol on the OTA channel and the HD Dtv channel. Started out watching the recorded OTA channel and here comes the pixelation. Switched to the D HD recording and it was just fine. It's weird as I never had this problem prior to the SWM8.
Yes, I know I can just record the D channel but it is nice to have OTA as we are in storm season here in Oklahoma and when they hit I lose D due to rain fade having the OTA sure is nice to see where the storms are.
the ota pixelation would not have anything to do with the swm8 since it is hooked up externally fr0om the swm. maybe your antenna needs tweaked
