Remote Control Question

I have read quite a bit about how you can use one DTV Remote for 2 or 3 DVRs in the same room. My question is whether you also have to program the remotes if you simply want to use a different remote for (2) DVRs in the same room (assume like models such as HR20-700)?

If you want to use two remotes in the same room and use IR you will need to set one to DIRECTV (using code 00001) and the other to AV1 (using code 00003).

If you want to use RF you just need to set both up for RF and follow the setup instructions.

You also need to change the dvr in the menu to work with the remote in the av1 or av2 mode.
