This week's Enterprise

Did anyone see this week's episode of Enterprise? Wow! Finally an episode that is in the true traditions of Star Trek. Lots of action, great acting and some excellent special effects. I'm impressed.

I haven't watched it yet (PVR), but IMHO, Enterprise is the best ST since TOS.

Are you talking about last nights episode (Canamar)? I normally love ENTERPRISE, and have friends on the show, but Canamar was dismal. An awful episode.

I thought it was pretty good. Lots of action, some successful sneakiness by the Captain (when he pretended to be a smuggler), an annoying criminal who JUST WON'T SHUT UP, and a swipe at governments who throw people into jail by presuming guilt before a fair trial (thinly veiled swipe against the current American justice system post 9/11). A lot going on and they didn't scrimp on the effects budget the way Stargate SG-1 has the last two years (can anyone remember a good action packed episode for Stargate lately?)

Really? Interesting. I have a hard time believing it was a "dismal" episode. I guess I'm a fan of Star Trek because it was built with a combination of thought provoking sci-fi, character development, special effects and a little bit of humor. Last night's episode didn't necessarily have all that much sci-fi, but it had great characters and humor. Sometimes I get really board with episodes of talking heads and people walking in and out of rooms.

I like last night's episode because even though I knew the captain would figure a way out, I was thinking, "Now how is he going to get out of there now. And the web kept closing in.

And the evil guy was classic evil, sociopath or whatever you want to call him. None of this confused rebel alien business. No meedlesome moral uncertainties for the captain to deal with last night. ;)

I liked last night's show too...but, IMHO, the episode last week was one of the best I'd seen in awhile.

--BearsFan Now that I think about it, you are right about that. Last week was pretty good. The first time the Tholian ship flew by it took me a few seconds to remember what it was. Definitely a good episode.

I thought the special effects in the atmosphere with the vapor trails were beautiful.

Two good episodes back to back with some nods to the original series via the Tholians in last week. Make it three with the Andorian war with the Vulcans. Extra points for Suzie Plakson's cameo as the warrior Andorian (she was Worf's wife on ST:TNG and has played numerous other characters on the show)

The series seems to be hitting it's stride now.

Now, when are we going to see the Romulans make an appearance. I can't wait for the two eyebrows up shock when T'Pol sees an emotional, passionate bunch of pointy eared folks causing trouble.
