622 froze during a replay for first time last night. Tried soft reset -- wouldn't go, powered up and shut off. Pulling the plug resulted in a power up and all front panel lights on as if to reboot, then a shut down, and nothing. Tried again, same thing. Figured it had finally had it. Called tech and while I was waiting, the thing powered up on its own, and did one of the fastest reboots I have ever seen. After that, everything worked absolutely fine. Tech said that the 622 and 722 have a slow response to reboot and sometimes can take up to 5 minutes before the reboot starts. She said in future, press front panel power or pull plug and replug, then just wait and the reboot will happen, eventually. That's a new one on me. It's never happened that way before.
Sometimes it does take a while to boot but I don't think I have ever seen 5 minutes before it comes to life.

I didn't time it, but the last time I did that I swear it was at least five minutes.

My wife and I had a similar thing happen this week.
Even after I did the front panel reboot, we waiting for what seemed like a long time (over a minute) and nothing happened. So I did a power plug reboot and had the same thing.
Just as I was getting ready to call Tech, it came on. I don't ever remember a reboot taking that long. It usually has the big delay in running the check switch/acquiring sats.

Yep. Exactly what GeeWhiz1 describes. Takes forever to start the reboot but once it starts, the reboot itself is really quick, unlike anything in my past experience.
