just hooked up my am21 I live in Northwest Washington 25 miles from the border 50 miles from Vancouver B.C. But I can't get the canadian channels to uplink does direct block those from am21..I would to get those extra HD channels
Is the AM21 like the HR20-700 in that it doesn't scan, but instead uses zip code information to set up your locals? I've only got the HR20s so I don't know and haven't had a need to read up on the new box. I've seen other threads where people in places like Buffalo "tricked" their HR20s into tuning Canadian stations. Here's one such:

The AM21 is exactly like the HR20, it does not scan for channels. The only way you can get any Canadian channels is to use the trick mentioned in the link.

Your AM21 receives just the newer digital ATSC transmissions, not analog NTSC transmissions. Currently the Vancouver digital signals are very weak, so I doubt you'll receive anything 25-50miles away.
