Pegasus Communications, the company that sells DirecTV in rural areas, reported a fourth quarter net loss applicable to common shares of $60.6 million, a $21.9 million decrease when compared to the $82 million loss reported during the same period in 2001.

When compared to the same period in 2001, the company's fourth quarter DBS net revenues decreased $2.2 million to $217.3 million. DBS EBITDA increased $6.3 million to $53.9 million. For the company, consolidated net revenues increased $125,00 to $227.8 million.

Pegasus' DBS subscribers numbered 1.308 million at the end of the quarter. During the three month period, the company reported a net subscriber loss of 33,000. During 2002, the company had a net subscriber loss of 73,000.

Pegasus sells DirecTV through its affiliates with the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative.
