I have an HR21-700 connected to my router/computer. I am running windows Vista premium, with an AMD 64 dual core. The DOD feature works perfectly. What else do I need to do.

What else do you need to do for what? What is it you are trying to accomplish?

What are you trying to use in Vista to serve up your Media? WMP, Nero, Tiversity, Twonky, ViiV, etc...

You need to give us more information if you want us to help you out.

I agree, more information is needed to help you with your set-up questions. I do think a "Vista Media Share thread" is a good idea. Were you interested in setting up Media Share through WMP11? Vista Home Premium has that software pretty well integrated into its operating system. I too, would like some clarity to the firewall/networking settings as can be adjusted through Vista.

Once upon a time, media share worked perfectly on my HR21. Now however - I have access to my PC's photos through media share, but I have had problems getting videos to play. I can play music - but have problems getting my music library to display (I have an extensive library - around 37 gigs). Songs do play if I press "play" on my remote, but they play at random. Haven't been able to figure it out. How does it go from working perfectly - to partially without any settings modification?? Perhaps a software upgrade??
