I am hopping mad right now.

On Monday, I had an afternoon appointment. Took the half day off and waited at home. Nobody showed up. No phone call. No nothing. I called DirecTV after the scheduleded time windows had ended. The rep rescheduled me again for Tuesday between 8AM and 12PM.

On Tuesday, I had an afternoon appointment. Took the half day off and waited at home. Nobody showed up. No phone call. No nothing. By 12PM, I was p*ssed off and called DirecTV again. The rep apolgized and rescheduled me AGAIN for Wednesday.(still 8AM-12PM)

Guess what happned on Wednesday? SAME THING AGAIN! I called DirecTV and spoke to a supervisor. She put me on hold and called the contractor directly. A few minutes later, she came back on the line and told me that the contractor couldn't make it because he didn't finishe his earlier appointments. (if they were working for me, they'd be fired by now) Apparently the company that DirecTV contracts with is called Mas-Tec(or Mas-Tech?) and they are located 2.5 hours from me... but that's not my problem, is it? :(

I was once again scheduled for today, Thursday, between 8AM and 12PM. It is now 11AM. No sign of contractor and no phone call.

In about one hour, if nobody shows up, I'll probably go up to my roof and smash the DirecTV dish.

Sorry... but I just can't believe how they can keep doing this to me.... :(

You should be getting some credits from DirecTV for a no-show install appointment. When you call, be sure to ask. I have heard $100 for the first no-show in some other threads.

Given that they are 2.5 hours away, you might consider a self-install. This forum is immensely helpful (me excluded) and installers regularly post their thoughts. Also, you will be familiar with all components installed and can troubleshoot without waiting hours or days for an appointment.

Just my thoughts, but I do understand your frustration.

It is weird they schedule you for the very next day every time. Therein might lie the problem.

While it is certainly NOT your fault, you need to know that the HSPs (the big contractors who run the installations for DirecTV) regularly overload their techs (because they claim to have more techs than they have, to make DirecTV believe they can handle the volume of work) and give those techs crazy routes.

If a tech has 5-6 or more jobs, and you are 1.5 hours away from all of the other ones (3 hour round-trip), the tech is going to look at his jobs and decide he'd rather miss your 1 job than miss 3-4 others to go all the way out to you. This goes double if the tech is a subcontractor.

Is it right? No, and DirecTV should certainly be compensating you for those no-call/no-shows. Also, you will have the greatest chance of success by scheduling an AM appointment, as AMs generally have to be completed before the tech can go to PM jobs, which means PM jobs regulary get reschedued.

Again, I'm not defending any of this, but trying to let you know WHY things are happening and what you can do to maximize your chances of getting your tech out (and getting compensated for those missed appointments).

Good luck.

Also, schedule an AM appointment. Otherwise you will almost certainly be hosed.
