HD locals

I know this is a bit of an unknown but is there any info on when new HD locals will be added? When I signed up almost a year ago the satellite place thought it might be Q1 2008, obviously that didn't happen.

I would like to know this as well, been waiting for along time and really tired of the poor picture quality of the sd locals D* sends.

We'll probably see more HD locals when D11 reaches it's parking spot and goes online.

I'm sure Directv is anxious to start rolling out more HD locals. If all goes well with D11, maybe they will start adding these around Jul/Aug-2008.

A rough date for parking, based on a trend analysis from monitoring its orbital maneuvers to date, is around May 25, plus or minus a couple days (and subject to revision based on further monitoring).

Activation and service estimates range from 3 - 6 weeks after that, depending on how optimistic or pessimistic you are. :)

Thanks, my locals are pretty poor quality in SD and I'm really hoping to have them in HD by the fall. It doesn't help that Fox and NBC aren't available OTA.

D* needs locals in NORFOLK, VA

every other provider in this DMA has locals but D*'

for crying out loude E* just added HD locals in this market earlier this month..

so E*, VZ FIOS, and cable all have locals in this market...

WSKY-4-DT -?? (currently only avail OTA and via cable, comming soon to VZ)
nbc -WAVY-LIN avail via all other tv providers
abc- WVEC-BELO avail via all other tv providers
pbs- WHRO- avail via cable and fiber
cw- WGNT-CBS CORP- avail via cable and fiber
mnt- WTVZ-sinclair (contract completed with cable, but currently not broadcasting via cable, feed for VZ should be complete within the next months)
fox- WVBT-LIN avail via all other tv providers.
