but HR21 is not. Can't be an alignment issue then right? I rebooted one of the standards but no fix. What else can I try?

Signal levels?
Tried swapping boxes from one room to another?

I have a regular receiver in the living room and bedroom. Both those are pixilating. My HR21 in my media room works perfectly. Not sure if switching regular receivers around would accomplish anything since they're both doing it.

swap the hr21 with 1 sd unit to rule out connection issue.

may not happen often, but 2 connections can act up at the same time. what I was dealing with all last week. what a pain that was.
swapping is a lot less time consuming than guessing all day long and would rule it out usually :)

it appears to be the locals only as all other channels are fine. I haven't swapped the HR21 with a standard receiver yet, but I'll try that. I keep getting the "searching for 771" signal message. There are a bunch of trees that have bloomed near the area the local dish is pointed so I'm wondering if that has something to do with it. Still don't know why it would work fine on the HR21 though.
Checked signal strength on the 72.5 and got this..
1-8 n/a 36 n/a 0 n/a 36 n/a 0
9-16 n/a 37 n/a 0 n/a 37 n/a 0
17-24 n/a 37 n/a 0 n/a 36 n/a 0
25-32 n/a 35 n/a 0 n/a 36 n/a 0
Those are way too low correct?

Yeah. You are way too low on the 72.5. Probably the trees are just clipping it. Or the dish has moved. So either a realignment or a relocate are in order. Or maybe a J pipe which is pretty much a longer mast but gives you about 3 more feet of elevation on the dish.

Why would the locals work fine on my HR21 though? I also think its an LOS issue, but they shouldn't come in on the HR21 either I would think.

It's doing it on the HR21 also now. Obviously this is an LOS issue with my small dish as the trees are in full bloom now. I'll call tomorrow and have them realign.

Do you have your locals in HD ?

I'm surprised you get any channel at all - those are far too low! :eek2:
I'd get the Dish re-aligned ASAP.

My local retailer came out the same day I called and realigned the dish. Signals are now in the upper 90's and the problem is fixed. Can't stress enough about going through a local retailer. Who knows how long it would have taken someone from D* to come do it. Plus no charge, no questions asked.
