WILTON, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 3, 2003-- PanAmSat Corporation (NASDAQ: SPOT - News) today announced that HDNet, the leading high-definition broadcaster, has selected PanAmSat to provide the satellite delivery of its high-definition television (HDTV) content to its cable and direct broadcast satellite (DBS) providers throughout North America. By working with PanAmSat, HDNet's programming will be made available to nearly 10,000 cable headends across the United States.

"We believe HDTV will be one of the key areas of growth for the FSS sector over the next several years. This initiative will help pave the way for the greater adoption of this technology by consumers."
HDNet is the leading national network transmitting all its programming in the high-definition format. By entering into this agreement with PanAmSat, HDNet will now extend its reach and distribute its programming via satellite to U.S. cable and DBS providers. Initially, HDNet will utilize the Galaxy IX satellite at 127 degrees west longitude before migrating to Galaxy XIII, due to be launched in the second half of 2003.
