I have a speaker connected to a receiver and have a DirectV connected to my HD TV. Every so often I hear beaps coming through my speaker, like mostly 4 beaps and occasionaly 2 beaps. I know this sounds crazy but my wife has heard it too. So I am not hearing things. Can anyone fill me in on what this could possibly be?I am using both HDMI and compound connections.

What brand/model DirecTV Receiver do you have? Brand/model TV? How is everything connected together?

I have an H100. I have a Yamaha receiver carrying my audio from the speakers. I control my audio with the Yamaha remote. My TV is a Toshiba 52 in projection.

there is a very slight possibility that you are hearing an unfiltered data stream at the beginning or end of a show. it would sound like a series of 3 or 4 beeps with different tones.

is this a pcm vs raw setting issue possibly?

Does this happen when you press a button on the remote? If so, you can turn them off with Setup->Audio->Sound Effects.
What is a compound connection?

I used to be able to control my volume from my DirectV remotes, but I changed a connection either on my Yamaha receiver or on my Toshiba TV. I am not sure what connection I changed but now I can only control my volume on my TV with my Yamaha remote and not my DirectV remote? Can anyone help me to change back the connection so I can control volume with my DirectV remotes.
