View Full Version : Question on signal strength
I just noticed that our signal on the 722 was like 62-then it dropped to 35- It has been stormy in the area so I don't know if that's part of it. Also too our neighbor has a tree and it looks like it may be blocking part of the signal because now the tree has bloomed just now realized it and looks like the dish is pointing right at the tree. . What should the normal strength be seems like to me we were always around 95 in the winter but now it's registering in the 60's. I just worry that one of these times it's going to go out. Max. Am still getting a great picture but just seems odd to me that it's that low. I may try to take a picture and let you pro's decide.

First, the signal meter was changed over the past few months due to an upgrade in software.
Most people with very high signal reading now usually average around 75, so since you are in the low 60's, that is very high, so don't worry.
The weather DOES effect signal strength, especially right before a storm. The sky is dark and black, and the signal drops.
After the storm starts and the rain/thunderstorm comes, the signal will increase.
Also due to the new signal meter you actually won't begin to lose signal until it reaches 10 or below so at 35 you are OK.
Ok thanks i forgot about that. Plus just found out that part of are viewing area is in a tornado watch untill 10 and the skies are cloudy. Hopefully all what we will get is just a thunderstorm. Max.
