swm and multi switch question

ok, time for another foolish question from me.

if you run your 4 lines from normal slimline lnb to inputs on wb616 and then run out from ouputs 1-4 (matching input order) to swm does this act the same as running straight from lnb to swm? eg. line from output 1 on lnb to input 1 on switch, output 1 on switch to input 1 on swm.
wondering if this would allow 4 swm to be run from a wb616.

I think it would fail, but I have no way of knowing so I thought I'd ask. I believe it would alter the freq. and cause failures.

That would work just fine.

If you needed to run 4 SWM8s, you could also do away with the WB616 and use 4 4 port splitters. Then you'd have to make sure that each feed from the individual splitters goes to the same input on the SWMs.

yes it works fine that way, and like robert said..... you can run 4 in parrallel also. i have 2-swm'8 and 2-wb68's all ran in parrallel off of 1x4 splitters. it works great and is quite a bit cheaper than having a wb616 in the set up

wow, good to know. I ask because I have a wb616 and if I ever wanted to go to single line on dvr's in multiple rooms I though about using it since its powered.
