On the Zinwell 6 x 8 multi switch, can I plug the OTA antenna into one of the 2 free ports on the "top" of the switch? If I do that, do I need to run a cable to the back of each reeiver that needs the OTA HD channels? Or can I simply plug it in, and then all receivers receive the OTA HD channels.

This brings me to my 2nd point - when is Lexington, KY going to get HD locals on the satellite?

No, the 2 flex ports that you are not using are for SAT's 72.5 and 95 that are needed in some area's.

There is not an approved way to diplexe OTA with the new HD channels.

Some have got this setup to work....

WB68 output-->cable line-->BBC-->cable line-->SAT in on diplexer--one cable here for both>Diplexer-->SAT out to SAT input on receiver
OTA-->cable line-->Antenna in on the diplexer--one cable here for both>Diplexer-->Antenna out to OTA input on receiver.

askin for trouble using a diplexer anywhere inline with an HD box.

However, that being said, I HAVE sucessfully used a diplexer with a 6 x 8 and an HD reciver, you just must make sure that the diplexer is inlne with either the 13v or 18v inputs on the 6 x 8. If its on the 22khz tone it just simply will filter it out, and you get no HD. Getting it behind the TV that way however after the 6 x 8, just better off running another line.

I have heard with the new SWM setup they do have some new special diplexers coming out for it though, thats something to check out in the future.

Sorry, you're misunderstanding what happens. You can't use a diplexer with the signals from the DirecTV10 satellite because DirecTV10 (and 11) produce signals that overlap the OTA frequency band. Nothing to do with the 22KHz tone.
There is a way of getting diplexing to work that involves relocation of the BBC. Here's a long thread telling you everything you need to know about this workaround. http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=62299

The SWM8 allows diplexing because it moves all the signals so nothing overlaps the OTA band - in fact the SWM8 has its own built-in diplexer, so all you need to do is put another diplexer at the receiver to separate the OTA and sat signals.
