Will a TERK work with a DISH Pro LNB?

If you are talking about the Terk indoor antenna; visit the avsforum.com Perhaps you will find 1 person out of a hundred with something positive to say about this unit. Buy a RatShack BowTie or Channel Master Silver Sensor - much better + much cheaper

Terk should be renamed to Jerk, stay away from anything with this name brand on it.

"The difference between TERK antennas and Monster Cables is that Monster Cables actually work" - me, sometime in the not too far distant past. Both brands are heavily marketed.

Man I always thought that Terk meant CRAP. I had 2 Terk Antennas that I was not happy with (infact a pair of rabbit ears worked better!)

I can't comment on whatever new prouducts they have out there, but I can guarentee that radio waves have not changed in the last 50 years, some wild shaped Terk Antenna is not going to do any better then any standard antenna on the market now.

I have to concur with most of the posts here. I had a TV-55 mounted outside and it was the worst. I now use a RS indoor and get amazing reception on the local digital channels of which we are blessed here in Houston to have quite a lot.

Good luck,

Dennis

I recently bought one of the Terk antennas (TV42) that attaches to my Dish. It is working extremely well with no dropouts. I am viewing Analog and HD on several channels. I even split the feed and am using it with my stereo tuner.

Fortunately we live about 18 Miles Northeast of Austin. The dish ints directly at the Broadcast Tower sites.

I understand that others have had problems. However, you may want to give it a try.... just make sure you can return if it does not work for you!

If the Terk worked in your location, it would mean that a wire coat hanger would have done the same thing. And, a coat hanger cost nothing!

There have been many thread discussions here and on AVS regarding Terk antennas. As stated above a few people have had success with them. The Terk antennas seem to be much higher priced with no performance advantages. They rarely use conventional antenna designs and quote minimal specifications. They push HDTV and Digital terms in their advertising although there is no difference in design needed to receive "Digital" vs Analog with regard to the antennas. The top names in TV antennas are Winegard and Channel Master. If you live in an area with very mild winters then even Radio Shack antennas will provide excellent results. If you do decide to go with a Terk just remember you can do a web search with the last letter being either a K or a D.
