I'm planning on purchasing a new power supply for my computer next month. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000P9XFBC/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance Can somebody recommend a power supply that would allow 5-10 mins of backup time (Enough time for Windows to shut down)? It should also have AVR Boost & AVR Trim.

Here is a thread started the other day about this....http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=129232&highlight=UPS
I believe there are a few other threads around too if you do a search for UPS.
that looks like a great power supply.

Thermaltake's are great... I just bought one a couple months back... Runs silently and perfectly...

According to my math... at maximum consumption, that power supply would require 1495W... (on newegg it says the input current is 13A)... So be careful on a power supply... Getting 5-10 minutes is gonna require one heck of a backup!

kturcotte, sorry I just actually look at your post. I only glanced at it before and just went off the title. The link I posted above was discussion about UPS's for A/V equipment but there are good recommendations there for PC's too.
When I built my new PC about two months ago this is the one I got...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16842101066
I have my tower (650watt power supply), one of two monitors plugged into it and my network equipment (modem, router, and vonage). Also I had one DVR plugged into it. I lost power about two weeks ago and it lasted 30-35 minutes and still had about 5 minutes left.
I am actually about to add the same unit on my main TV setup for my TV, A/V receiver, and couple DVR's.

I doubt it'll actually be drawing 1Kw, just "Future Proofing" (If there is such a thing lol).
These are the 2 I'm considering:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16842101125&Tpk=aPc%2bbr1500 and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16842101067. Just not sure why the price difference. Personally like the black one better, but am willing to be more for more performance.

I recently bought this one from Circuity City for the $179 Listed and I love it. So if you have a CC near you I'd go with this one.

I would say that you can't go wrong with APC no matter what
