Yeah. Happens to my HR20's all the time. Since I have 2 girls, Disney HD is on almost 10 hours a day it comes on quite frequently and is annoying.

I personally have never had this problem but there has been other reports of this problem. If you do a search for screen saver you will find some threads about it.

I am not sure if there is a fix or not.

One of my HR20's has done this a couple of times in the past and a soft menu reset cured it.

Right, typically a Reset will fix this problem.

Typically, if you get low signals (especially with OTA), it will come on. As for Disney channel, I don't know why one would get a screen saver come on.

usually this comes upo on mix channels, but on normal channels... didnt hear of that as a problem.
To return to programming:
Press any key. (For example, Channel Up or Down, or tune to a channel. Use remote, or press buttons on receiver itself.)

This happens on mine when left on pause. Just hit almost any button and iy will return.

I'm having a problem with the screensaver on my HR21-700. It's not a bugginess problem really, it's that I have one at all.

I wouldn't mind it so much if it didn't cause my receiver to stop recording to the buffer. I usually leave it on a particular channel so when I get home from work I can just sit down and watch my regular program. Sometimes I'm late and want to go back to the start(usually the news).

For the last week or 2 it's been coming on pretty regularly and in a very short time. A few time it has come on after less than 2 hours in the middle of a movie or game(which can last in excess of 3 hours). I end up missing some of the program until I find the remote and now the buffer is erased so I can't back up to see the part I missed. It's very frustrating. Rebooting doesn't help and appears to be a new "feature". It's always had a screensaver and it's always been more of a nuisance than it's worth but now it plain sucks.

Do you put the unit in standby? That might keep it from going to screensaver.

My HR21-700 showed the screen saver this morning after coming out of standby.

It does seem like that bug is back. A menu reset has helped some folks. Don't forget to log it in the issues thread for your appropriate receiver. (If you have already logged it, sorry for the reminder.)

Whether in standby or not, it is definitly a bug for the screen saver to come on except when in pause mode or on an audio channel.
