View Full Version : Bad signal levels?

Sorry about starting another signal level post but mine looks odd to me- most are good but some are low and even 0. The channels we watch(mostly premium, networks(a little) and Discovery) seem OK except for the NBC local freezes, goes black, etc. at times. I have a feeling some other channels may have issues but we just don't happen to watch them. Here are my readings on a clear day(HR20 system was installed app. a month ago).

103C seems a bit odd, but only a bit. other signals look ok.

All those zeroes you're getting? Those are actually transponders that (while they may be in use), are ones that have no use to people in your market. With the 103s satellite that is a spot beam for people that get their HD locals off the 103. So often those will show up as zeroes as the channel information is "blocked off" to you.

I wish my numbers were as good as yours and I have tried to tweek mine a couple of times. I don't see anything wrong with your numbers.
Your alignment is very good. If you take off your BBC's and re-measure your 110's, you'll probably find they're all in the mid-90's. That's common. The reason your 103(c)'s look odd is because your dish is maybe a quarter-turn of the fine adjustment bolts out of alignment, which wouldn't cause any reception problems you would ever notice, since your lowest tp is reading 84. This is shown by the disparity between the odd and even tp's on 103(c). I wouldn't mess with it unless you have absolutely nothing better to do. :)

Thanks guys- I guess I won't lose any sleep over it. Not that I have anyway. :) I guess my spots may be a little quirky since ABC messed up a little last night but NBC was doing fine. A little aggravating but it sure beats Comcast's PQ and DVR issues that I had- at least these are only occasional.
