Disgusting!!:nono: Although I must admit, Soriano for a measely $800,000.00 is a STEAL!! They'll likely sign him to a 200 million 10yr deal next year. Does anybody remember when Gary Carter and Mike Schmidt were the first players in the same year to top 2 million a year. How ironic it is that the Expos had the highest paid player in the game at that time.

I am happy to see that Giambi is not the savior that they all thought he would be. That is why I was extremely happy last season when the Angels won the series

I remember in 1986 or 87 when the Tigers resigned Jack Morris and the headline of the paper was,
"1.85 MILLION!!!!"

When I first read the title of this thread:

Yankees payroll tops 150 million!!

I thought...damn...$150 million?!? Its so unfair that the Yankees have the ability to meet that payroll! These major market teams have a HUGE advantage! I'm sure ANY team could win with $150 million!!!!!

Then I thought of the Chicago Cubs.

The Yankees revenues will likely be in excess of $275 million this year. Its not like he needs to spend any money from his other business ventures given that.
