(As guest user, I can't post to the Survivor: Amazon board, and I don't want to activate my DBSTalk account on a student station.)

According to the latest news reports, the President will hold a press conference at 8 PM ET tonight. This is the same time as Survivor. The CBS website hasn't been updated with this change.

Now, I know that world events take precidence over Survivor, but what is the battle plan for the game should Survivor be pre-empted this week?

I doubt that Survivor will be preempted tonight. I suspect it will be "joined already in progress" for east coast viewers, or shifted back (as CSI and Without a Trace are both repeats tonight).

The timing of the press conference shouldn't affect Central. Mountain, or Pacific timeslots.

If this week's episode does get preempted, we'll decide tonight what to do about the contest, and post that decision tomorrow.

My guess is that they'll just start Survivor 20 minutes or so late tonight.

Central WILL be pre-empted, as their primetime starts at 7:00 PM (so that they can be live at the same time the east coast is live).

President Bush will hold a news conference tonight at 8PM ET. CBS's primetime line-up (SURVIVOR: THE AMAZON, CSI, WITHOUT A TRACE) will air in its entirety immediately following the speech.
