If they can give people a free HD DVR, I think they can give previous year ST subs free HD...............
Wish I would have waited. The promo last year didn't include the DVR and I didn't feel like spending $299 on one.

I did predict free HDDVR in the 3rd Q. DirecTV has been rating new sub credit scores for a long time, only the low risk ones get the full promo benefit.

Even the $100 instant rebate states "low risk." As long as you have a credit card you're OK.

Last year customers got free Superfan. This years customers get free HD DVR (appearantly).
Thats about a $100 difference. Oh well.

I don't believe SF was ever part of the "new customer national signup offer" but it was free to those who signed up for NFLST later in the season as well as some existing NFLST customers who bitched and moaned alot :). Actually, it was. I signed up last year and got the SF for free with the 4 months premier package.

What month did you signup? I just looked looked at the 'original Q3 '07 offer which started on 7/7/07 and it wasn't part of it. I seem to remember it being added AFTER the NFL season already started in the fall and shortly before the Q3 promo ended which was in November '07 as limited time incentive offer. Actually, it was. I signed up last year and got the SF for free with the 4 months premier package.

I signed up 8/8/07 and I got SF all season for the standard promo of ST paid in 4 months and 4 months free of premier. It didn't originally work but I called in and they set me up. I think a LOT of new subs were calling about the same problem at the same time.

Like I said, "it wasn't part of the Q3 offer last year." :) Doesn't mean people couldn't call and get it ... they used to be VERY liberal with freebies but began tightening up quite a bit earlier this year. We'll see what happens this season. I signed up 8/8/07 and I got SF all season for the standard promo of ST paid in 4 months and 4 months free of premier. Are there any plans to offer long time, low credit risk customers (I've been with D* for over 10 years and always paid my bill on time) a deal on a 2nd HR20/HR21?

I doubt they will just call you to offer you another one, but have you called and asked ? Are there any plans to offer long time, low credit risk customers (I've been with D* for over 10 years and always paid my bill on time) a deal on a 2nd HR20/HR21?

It wasn't a freebie, maybe they were inaccurate in what they told me, but it was supposedly just a problem in their system. They said everyone was having the same problem. I highly doubt they would starting giving lots of freebies to people who had been with DirecTV for 20 days.

The SuperFan package has been a $99 option for a few years. Initially DirecTV was giving it away to 90% of those who called complaing that "why should I have to pay extra for it." A few weeks into the season last year it was given away free as a promotion to those who signed up for NFLST after a few NFL weekends had passed. It was not "offiically" included with NFLST or the Q3 07 signup offers or I would have it in my marketing & training materials. It's not on Q3 08 marketing material either which I just got last week. Not saying they weren't giving it to customers who called, but it wasn't part of the offer. There WERE issues with some customers who actually paid the $99 for it but didn't get it. That being said, I'm glad you got it for free by calling for whatever reason they gave. :)
