As you may have seen on Wednesday as a joke I added a new feature to the board to "Help me predict the Winner of the DBSTalk.COM Survivor Contest"

This feature was [YOU]

What it did was replace [YOU] with YOUR username, when you read the message your name was inserted in place of [YOU] when others looked at the same message they saw their username.

A couple of crafty members figured out how I did it and started inserting the [you] code into their posts, this of course confused a number of members who could not figure out why their name was associated with a thread.

Because of this I have removed the [you] feature. What started as a light hearted attempt at fun has turned into confusion for many members, I do appologize as that was not the intention of the feature.

Thanks for your understanding.

I apologize, Scott. I didn't mean to confuse anyone, and I thought that everyone had figured it out how to use it by the time I made that change to my sig, but I guess I was wrong.

Don't worry about it Raj. :)

You were not the only one who did it, and you didn't do anything bad, it just confused some people.

My wife actually thought it was funny. Usually I talk about stuff on this forum to her and she doesn't even listen.

She thinks we are a bunch of Geeks but she sure does like our satellite / home theater...

So much for being clever. I actually got a couple of message wondering why I was wondering what a person was thinking.

Perhaps an announcement should be made on the front page about what happened.
