View Full Version : tv to pc
I have a toshiba dlp with a pc connection in the back. If i connect it to my laptop what can I do? I also was looking in the manual and noticed a port that said its for firmware updates only, can I update the firmware and if so how and where do i get an updated version?

I would check the Toshiba website for firmware updates and instructions on installing them.

generaly it would turn your tv into a big monitor. my hp plasma 42'' is magical. For firmware updates their is an older printer looking port (on my tv atleast) that provides firmware updates. You can usually order them through the website, but unless you have problems with your tv, or a big upgrade to the software has happened I wouldn't bother as you probably won't see any noticeable differences
I believe that Toshiba and JVC often use flash cards to flash the TV's firmware.
Beware the VGA ports on many TVs as they often support rather low computer resolutions (800x600 and 1024x768). The new Toshiba Regza models advertise S-XGA resolution which is 1280x1024. Probably not what you had in mind for a jumbo widescreen monitor.
