Our new-build house is nearing completion and I'm getting things ready for occupation in a month or so. One of the things I want to do is figure out where on the house the DirecTV dish should be mounted so I can have the cables ready in the correct location for the installer.

My question is, are there signal finders out there that will locate the various satellite signals without the use of a dish/receiver hooked up to it? And, if so, anyone know where I can rent one? I'm trying to be slightly inconspicuous here since I have to "sneak" up on my roof (builders usually frown on you being on the roof of a house you don't technically own yet).

You can probably determine as well using this website as any other way. The only way to actually test signal is to install a dish.
