Last night I added a Seagate FAP and eSATA cable to my HR20 in order to gain disk space. I had seen reports the VOD would go away when this was done. I did lose the VOD capability and was hoping someone had figured out a way to retieve the information required from the original disk and add it to the external HD. ANy ideas if and how this could be done?

VOD should refresh on its own after a few hours. Are you asking about programs you had already downloaded?

I can't even watch the welcome to VOD video. I cannot get anything but the Welcome screen to show up on VOD. Someone had posted this feature would be lost and I did lose it. I was hoping somone found a way to get it working again. I had watched everything I had previously downloaded so I am not concerned about that part.

It should return on its own--if it doesn't try rebooting the HR20 (unplug its power cord and plug back in but make sure the external drive remains powered up and connected to the HR20).

It still does not work. Someone said ithe program was on the original HD and would not work with the external drive. Are those of you with an external drive getting VOD or not? Anybody?

i have been using the ESATA srive for sometime with 3 different boxes ( hr20-700, and hr-21pro) and have NO PROBLEM WITH VOD..... not sure what VOD has to do with the ESATA drive....

The ONLY glitch i have noticed using the ESATA drive is that on my HR21PRO units, the internal temp does not report correctly when using the ESATA... it always reports 32F

VOD will work with your seagate. I've been using mine for quite a while now. VOD should be in your guide when it comes up.
